I end up with vinyl records that are scratched or cracked & can't be played. Rather than put the 'unplayables' in my collection, I've started "recycling" these albums in several different ways: melting into decorative bowls, cutting out the labels for drink coasters, spray painting or using oil pastels to create wall clocks, & the newest recycling hobby: making books (scrapbooks, photo albums, portfolios, & notebooks).

the ballad of john & yoko

it's lucky that a photograph could capture their relationship because i don't think anyone has ever understood the dynamics.
i've never understood "beatle mania" & frankly the first time i heard yoko "sing", i said: 'this is a joke, right?' there have been thousands of photos snapped & articles written on these 2 people; the public drank in all the images & words.
this is the enduring image for me because it wasn't glamorous or some elaborate celebrity production, it was just 2 people who really didn't care what people thought because i think lennon had tired of trying to explain/defend himself early in the beatles career.

shameless self promotion
i've been lucky enough to have a steady flow of photo sessions recently. now i'm stepping it up with some shameless self promotion in hopes of booking more sessions! if you've had a session with me in the past & liked the outcome, i hope that you'll spread the word for me to your friends & family that may be interested in pictures! if you refer someone who books a session with me & they mention your name, i'll give you 50% off your next session!
i've set up an online portfolio so people can view my work & also contact me by phone or e-mail. check it out here.
i also set up a facebook page so people can see my latest sessions. go ahead & like it (by clicking the widget to the right of this entry), you know you want to! :)
if anyone has promotion ideas, let me know!
